They also gain employment in the public sector in fields such as government administration, education and training, healthcare, transportation, etc.

The Commerce Association, Gargi College offers an assortment of opportunities for students to develop holistically while enjoying the learning process. The Entrepreneurship Conclave brings together innovators and entrepreneurs to inspire aspiring entrepreneurs in the Department. The Annual Commerce Seminar “Cascade” is organised on a topical theme, incorporating speaker session and inter-college competitions. Multiple level-up sessions are organized through the year by The Commerce Association. It works diligently to organize various events, such as Department Orientation, Educational Trips, Pathfinder Competition, Farewell, and others.
Comascent, the bi-annual magazine of the Department, is curated by the Comascent Editorial team. It provides an opportunity for students to express their views on diverse topics and showcase their creativity on diverse and contemporary topics in the field of Commerce. Each issue has a main theme and sub-theme. The insightful articles, surveys and competitions along with creative artwork and poetry provide a good read. The magazine also includes interviews with industry experts, alumnae and superannuating faculty members. The Comascent team also releases its yearbook ‘Reflections’ on the College Day which includes a compilation of the data of the graduating batch. To enhance research skills of students, Pathfinder Competition is conducted every year. Participating teams in The Gargi Pathfinder Competition are guided by Faculty Mentors, and the Competition ends with presentations in front of an external jury and winners are awarded prizes. Envisioned in 2008, by our former Principal, Dr. Meera Ramachandran, to promote innovation and problem solving skills, the Gargi Pathfinder Award is widely appreciated by students, faculty, academicians, and judges alike. The award aims to promote inquisitiveness among students, build academic interest, hone critical and analytical skills and ensure holistic learning of students.
The Department celebrated its Golden Jubilee in the year 2023, and the Department's Alumnae Association “Aikyam: The Gargi ComConnect” has also been constituted in June 2023, to maintain and nurture the connection of alumni with their alma mater. Aikyam, in Sanskrit, means 'unity' and perfectly captures the essence of this initiative. The Association is looking to create opportunities for Commerce alumnae of Gargi College to come and meet students through the year and share their expertise and knowledge with them. In this way, they can expand on their network and reconnect with their teachers. Current students of the Department can also benefit from alumnae’s experiences. No matter where the students are today, their journey is an inspiration to us all and Aikyam celebrates it because the journey doesn't end at graduation; it's a connection that continues to thrive.
