It provides an opportunity for students to express their views on diverse topics and showcase their creativity on diverse and contemporary topics in the field of Commerce. Each issue has a main theme and sub-theme. The insightful articles, surveys and competitions along with creative artwork and poetry provide a good read. The magazine also includes interviews with industry experts, alumnae and superannuating faculty members. The Comascent team also releases its yearbook ‘Reflections’ on the College Day which includes a compilation of the data of the graduating batch. Envisioned in 2008, by our former Principal, Dr. Meera Ramachandran, to promote innovation and problem solving skills, the Gargi Pathfinder Award is widely appreciated by students, faculty, academicians, and judges alike. The Department celebrated its Golden Jubilee in the year 2023, and the Department's Alumnae Association “Aikyam: The Gargi ComConnect” has also been constituted in June 2023, to maintain and nurture the connection of alumni with their alma mater. Aikyam, in Sanskrit, means 'unity' and perfectly captures the essence of this initiative. The Association is looking to create opportunities for Commerce alumnae of Gargi College to come and meet students through the year and share their expertise and knowledge with them. In this way, they can expand on their network and reconnect with their teachers. Current students of the Department can also benefit from alumnae’s experiences. Aikyam plans to host an Alumnae Meet every year. No matter where the students are today, their journey is an inspiration to us all and Aikyam celebrates it because the journey doesn't end at graduation; it's a connection that continues to thrive. Throughout the year 2023-24, the student team, under the Faculty Advisors - Dr. Sangeeta Jerath, Dr. Mandakini Das, Prof. Sonali Ahuja Dua, Ms. Aakriti Chaudhry, Dr. Payal Jain, and Ms. Nupur Tyagi - worked to enhance the connect between alumnae and their Department and College.
