We as a department believe in providing our students with inclusive education that equips them with a strong foundation in economic theory, analytical skills, critical thinking and the ability to apply economic principles to real-life challenges. Our vision is to make them believe in themselves and bring out the best in them by encouraging them to think, explore, research, innovate and create. Our department is evolving with the changing times and needs and hence, we are taking adquate steps to make the teaching-learning process an experiential one by imbibing the concept of learning-by-doing in our curriculum. 

 

 

The mission of the Economics Department at Gargi College is to provide students a safe and inclusive environment for their overall development and promote the study and understanding of economics through education, research and community engagement. We as a department believe that for a holistic development of a student it is important to maintain a balance in academics and extra-curricular activities and hence, encourage students to take economics beyond the classroom, teaching them problem-solving skills, and sensitizing them towards rational decision making. We envision to make our students not only better economists and leaders but also to be better human-beings.
