About

The Microbiology Alumni Students Interaction Forum (MASIF) of the Department of Microbiology at Gargi College, University of Delhi is a sub-union of GERMS involved in the department’s alumni relations. We have organized and hosted several webinars and interactive sessions to bring the students, alumni, and faculty together on a common platform to participate in engaging interactions.

Vision

Our objective is to facilitate students in having important and thought-provoking discussions about significant scientific topics with the faculty and alumni. By delving into pertinent studies and actively engaging with our alumni, we hope to see students uncover valuable insights regarding the course. We also aspire to offer the students exposure to current industry trends and research fields, thereby encouraging them to make informed decisions regarding their higher studies and future careers

Mission

We strive to foster strong communication between the graduates and our department's current students. Our interactive sessions and webinars are designed to offer students an insight into the path that our graduates embarked on to thrive and excel in this field of study.

Our graduates have dispersed globally, driven by their desire for education and experience, and their contributions are highly impactful. So, through these alumni-student interactive sessions, students can acquire valuable insight into the course's prospects and draw inspiration from the talks delivered by our esteemed alumni.

Society Activities

  1. Interactive session - ‘From Micro to Macro : A ireside Chat’ with Dr Sandhya Sanduja, (alumna batch of 2003). The online session was held on 30th November 2023.
  2. Interactive session - ‘Flavours of Hepatitis B Virus: Mutants and Liver Cancer’, with Dr Sonali Sengupta (alumna batch of 1995). The online session was held on 24th February 2024.
