Vision and Mission

Vision

Philosophy as an academic discipline has always provided the foundation for an inter-disciplinary learning. NEP 2020, the national educational policy, has in its policy vision a strong focus on multi and inter-disciplinary approach to education. We, the faculty in the department of Philosophy, Gargi College, support this vision.

We would also look forward to Philosophy being added not only as a domain subject in the newly formatted NTA (CUET) for central universities but becoming a mandatory subject area in ‘Research methodology’. Encouraging multidimensional research and scholarship; Motivating and shaping Critical and analytical thinking; Engage in multidisciplinary collaborations.

Mission

To cultivate a space of intellectual curiosity, fostering a profound understanding of diverse philosophical traditions and their contemporary relevance. With a commitment to inclusivity, we strive to create an environment that welcomes diverse perspectives , encouraging respectful dialogue and mutual understanding. We aim to empower students with the anlytical skills, ethical awareness, and intellectual depth needed for meaningful contributions in academia, professional fields and beyond.
