The college boasts of having its own state-of-the-art auditorium: the meridian of architectural finesse, with a seating capacity of 750 spread over the main floor and the mezzanine. The airy, spacious portico endowed with natural daylight and furnished with tables and chairs serves as a quiet place for conducting tutorial classes. The auditorium block is fully air- conditioned and equipped with solar lighting installations.

Bioinformatics Infrastructure Facility

Gargi College is one of the two colleges and the only Women's college in University of Delhi to have BIF (funded by DBT with a yearly grant for maintenance and allied expenses). Undergraduate students from any discipline of Science can implement bioinformatics projects with guidance from faculty.


A bookshop offering attractive discounts is stocked with the curriculum books for various courses as well as with stationery products. It is located on the passageway to the library.

Computer Laboratories

Computers have become an indispensably essential part of the undergraduate college curricula with the introduction of a variety of revised and restructured courses. The three computer laboratories in the college consisting of 110 computers with wi-fi connectivity provide students with an opportunity for hands-on training and enhancing their computing skills. The laboratories are also available for career-intensive education after regular class hours.

Food Court

The Food Court, students' favourite hangout, is where the action is. With lots of yummy food offered at reasonable prices, this is a place where students from all streams meet, interact and confabulate over steaming cups of tea/coffee. Cold drinks, fruit juice, tangy gol gappas, spicy chaat, crispy spring-rolls, delicious idli, vada, dosa, mouth-watering pastries, cakes, burgers, patties, samosas and bread pakoras, are among the various food items on offer. A water harvesting system has been installed in the canteen area. The canteen has been renovated and extended with the construction of an additional food outlet: Happiness Corner!!! A Nescafé kiosk is also posited in the precincts of the cafeteria.

Laboratories - Science / Elementary Education / Psychology

The Botany, Chemistry, Elementary Education, Microbiology, Physics, Psychology and Zoology laboratories are not only spacious and well-ventilated but also very well-equipped with various resources. Working in any of these laboratories is a pleasurable experience. There are separate research laboratories for Botany and Physics departments where research is being conducted by the faculty members.

Learning Resource Centre

WEBOPAC and facility of UGC INFLIBNET and access to DU Library Catalogue continued during the year. Gargi Library website http://www.gargicolglibrary.webs.com and online use of e-resources increased during the year for easy understanding and online access to Library resources and facilities. 617 books were added till March, 2018 making total of 74027 accessioned books in all. At present library has an asset of 217 CDs and subscribed to 51 periodicals and 10 newspapers. Electronic Resource Management package for e-resources: User control provided by NLIST. The library subscribes to a large number of Electronics Resources through UGC-Infosnet which includes e-resources (6,000+ ejournals and 31,35,000+ ebooks ) and University of Delhi connectivity which includes Delhi University Library System . It includes the Reference Sources, Bibliographic Sources, Statistical Sources, and Full Text Sources. Approximately 2,22,153 Books were consulted and loaned by users, which includes consultation of refernce section and excludes use of loose issues of periodicals. Approximately 73452 students visited library during the year till 31 March, 2018, which excludes faculty and non teaching staff. During the year approximately 17883 Books were issued and 18126 Books were returned till 31 March, 2018.

Medical Room

Medical facility is available to students during college hours. There is a medical room with a trained nurse for providing basic first aid to the students. Besides, students can also get their health check- up done. Regular medical and dental check-ups are conducted in the college by qualified medical professionals.

Open Air Theatre

A new open air stage has been recently constructed behind the office block with sufficient seating provision for the audience in the form of adjoining steps and a lush green lawn in its vicinity. This would serve as an open-air platform for students for various events and especially for 'Street Play'.

Seminar Hall

Adjoining the auditorium is a splendiferous seminar hall with a seating capacity of 125. It is instrumented with latest audio-visual equipments and is utilized for hosting various academic events.

Students’ Common Room: 'retreat'

Located near the cafeteria, the students' common room, 'Retreat' is a place where students can unwind, chitchat with friends and interact with seniors. It helps them learn about the college life and get familiar with their campus, which is their second home for three years. Students' very own space in college……Retreat always has its doors open for all students.

Students' Union Room

The Students' Council of Gargi College is a step towards instilling the values of democracy among students. The General Body elects a new council each year which is of the students, for the students, by the students. The Students' Union Room is the 'Head Quarters' from where the decisions made by the collective students' body are executed - from weekly cultural events to departmental festivals and the gala college festival: Reverie. The Students' Union Room is not just a space for a selected few, rather it is an open platform for all students to express their views and ideas.
