About
'Through the power and truth of our voices we stand together unyielding challenging the world to see, to feel and to change. Our stage is our sanctuary and every performance is a step towards revolution.'
‘Upstage’, The Dramatics society of Gargi college, is a close knit community of creative individuals dedicatedly working towards exploring the depth and diversity of theater, an art form that uniquely combines acting, dialogue, and stagecraft to tell compelling stories. Our theatre society is committed to explore the vast landscape of drama, adapting plays in both Hindi and English to engage a diverse audience. We have embraced the versatility of theatre by performing in various settings, including the intimate environment of the black box theatre to open spaces, like our own arts squad. We delve into the transformative power of theatre by often exploring the "Theatre of the Oppressed" using performance as a tool for social change and empowerment. Through these approaches we aim to challenge norms, provoke thought, and create a platform for voices that need to be heard.
