The topic of discussion for the session was the " Congress and it's Offcial excerpts from Hind Swaraj ". This text is an excerpt from "Hind Swaraj" or "Indian Home Rule," a book written by Mahatma Gandhi in 1909. The conversation is between a Reader and an Editor, discussing the Indian National Congress and its role in the fight for Home Rule (self-government) in India. The Reader is skeptical about the Congress and its leaders, like Dadabhai Naoroji and Gopal Krishna Gokhale, who are seen as too moderate. The conversation also highlighted the complexity of the relationship between Indians and the British, with the Editor advocating for a nuanced approach that recognizes the potential for support from Englishmen who genuinely desire Home Rule for India. The discussion touced on the importance of acknowledging the work of previous generations, learning from them, and building upon their foundation. The Editor emphasized the need for patience, understanding, and gratitude towards those who have paved the way for the current generation's aspirations and thus emphasised on correlating Gandhian values in the contemporary world.
